For those who spend most of their waking day at desk is is important to stretch and take breaks to avoid stress, tension and stiffness in our bodies
Humans are not designed to sit still for long periods, you know this by the fidgety feeling you get at work!
We condition ourselves to sit still in odd positions, slumped over a desk or on the phone. Over the months and years we develop postures that are very weak and stiff which can lead to more serious lower back and neck pain.
MISERABLE!
Couple this with a sedentary lifestyle, of little or no exercise, caffeine or nicotine powered alertness, bad nutrition and daily low level stress you will start to see the onset of other more ominous conditions such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, risk of heart problems etc.
NOT FUN
Luckily you can combat these problems easily but eating healthy nutritious food, cutting out the rubbish and adding daily stretching and exercise to your routine.
ESSENTIAL
Below is a fantastic office stretching guide I found online, feel free to print off the picture and stick it on your desk to remind you to keep mobile at work, get involved!

Dear Sir or Madam,
As I am working as an occupational therapist in Austria and I´m organising a workshop to the topic “Office ergonomics” I was looking for a poster with easy stretching exercises. Therefore I found this one on your homepage and I would like to ask, if I can use this one and hand it out to my patients. Of course I will publish the reference (the link of your homepage) on the printed sheet.
I would be delighted if you answer my request.
Yours sincerely,
Carmen Kaar
